Domestic flats prices stable in Japan

Japanese flats makers refrain from any sharp moves. Integrated mills keep implementing the late-April lift in prices for all flat products by $37-62/t (JPY 3-5/kg; exchange rate $1 = JPY 80.25) to distributors, while electric steelmakers have not dared to increase quotations of May output seeing still falling scrap prices (down $6/t (JPY 0.5/kg) in a week). As a result, only US dollar prices to local buyers have added $9-14/t in a week due to currency fluctuations.
