Japanese and US scrap prices increase in Far East

At the end of the first week of July, Japanese scrap exporters have raised prices to South Korea in view of the unsteady yen. US merchants have only raised offers to Taiwan, whereas Russian sellers are keeping them up. Japanese traders offer HMS 2 at JPY 30,000-30,500/t ($299-304/t, $1 = JPY 100.36) FOB, up JPY 500/t ($5/t) from earlier, supported by firm demand from a number of SE Asian countries.
