Weak Chinese demand for iron ore still denting prices

Demand in the Chinese iron ore market stays slack, since consumers are sure that prices will be falling further and can delay purchases on sufficient stocks. Importers want bigger discounts on the negative outlook for the finished product segment. Although crude steel output has dropped in the country and prices for some products (including long steel in China) are stable, the market remains oversupplied and prices will slip again, since buying is traditionally low in November-December.
