Fruit growers fund study to establish new peach factory

A NEW peach processing facility could be opened in the Yuba-Sutter area of California after farmers pledged to part-finance a feasibility study. Fifty farmers have each agreed to pay US 400 dollar to secure an US 80 000 dollar US Department of Agricul ture (USDA) giant. The Yuba-Sutter Economic Development Corporation (YSEDC) has been heading the project and working with growers to complete the application process, according to Tim Johnson, executive director of YSEDC. A final application must be made by June.
