Forecast of Mn alloys prices in Russia

The main factor determining prices for Mn alloys in the global market, including Russia, is Chinese market situation. It is very likely that China will become the only market where demand for manganese alloys will grow in 2020, while persisting oversupply of manganese ore and slack demand in other markets will prevent prices for manganese ore and alloys from rising. Gradual recovery to the pre-crisis levels is possible only in 2021. In Russia, intensified competition with foreign suppliers, Kazakhstan and Georgia in particular, will put additional pressure on prices.
