The beginning of the summer may become a turning point for all basic ferroalloys in Russia. A rapid price rise seen since late 2020 will be followed by a reversal of trend amid easing supply concerns in Asia and Europe. Meanwhile, Russia's steelmaking sector posted high production numbers in Q1 thanks to extremely favourable international markets for finished steel and semis. This factor will continue having a positive influence on ferroalloys consumption in the region, preventing prices from falling too fast.
