AUSTRALIA's almond industry continues to witness excellent growth. In the space of eight years, production has tripled and currently around 27 300ha are planted to almonds, 20 500ha of which were planted in the last six years alone. The industry, while a relative newcomer to producing almonds on a large scale, is optimistic about the future and hopes that this rate of growth will continue and triple again in the next eight years.
