Fine crops and low demand keep vegetable prices weak

ACTIVITY in Europe's frozen vegetable market remained lacklustre this week. Trade sources say the sluggish trend that has existed for much of 2009 is not only due to the downturn in the global economy, but also because summer crops have generally been good this year. Consequently, buyers are relaxed about replenishing stocks and there is little upward pressure on prices.
