Cashew buyers stirred into action but remain cautious on volumes

European edible nut dealers have reported a slight upturn in cashew buying interest of late, although the underlying pattern remains hand to mouth. In a June 27 market report, Dutch broker Global Trading observed that prices of raw seeds in West Africa were attractive. "Demand for the raw seeds is limited and local traders are discounting their prices to generate interest as quality is deteriorating. The discounted prices create some more interest," it added.
