In the wake of the recent years' financial and debt crises, many observers could not resist concluding that something is seriously wrong with the field of economics. In Money, Blood and Revolution, George Cooper aims to identify and formalize the scientific shortcomings of the field of economics; to propose an alternative paradigm that builds on insights from economic, political and behavioral sciences; and to propose policies based on this alternative view of how the modern economy works. Despite Cooper's stated goal to provide a descriptive model of the economy, a strong normative view emerges from his analysis that, as we will argue, contradicts common notions of the good life that have been proposed in recent economic, psychological, or policy debates.
