DTF Forum Highlights Diesel’s Benefits for California

A June 7 forum focusing on diesel’s role in California highlighted numerous financial and environmental benefits from clean-diesel fuels and technologies. The California Institute for Federal Policy Research hosted the event, which featured presentations by members of the Diesel Technology Forum (DTF). A DTF summary of the event released June 10 highlighted the following: The manufacture of diesel engines, vehicles and equipment, the production of fuel and servicing of equipment accounts for US$183 billion in national income and generates 1.25 million jobs. In 2009, $46.2-billion worth of diesel equipment and fuel were produced and exported, accounting for about 4.4 % of all U.S. exports.
