Lach Huyen Bridge

In recent years, Vietnam has maintained its stable and high economic growth rate. In response to the increase in freight transport, the construction of an international deep-sea port and preparation of the socioeconomic infrastructure in the surround areas are underway in Haiphong, Northern Vietnam's largest harbor city. Lach Huyen Port Road and Bridge Project is being implemented to construct the 15.6 km access way connecting Hanoi Metropolitan area and Haiphong city via Highway No. 5 to the new port. It is Japan's ODA (Official Development Assistance) project with application of STEP (Special Terms for Economic Partnership) that promotes the use of advanced technologies and know-how of Japanese firms. Upon completion of the 5.4 km long and 16 m wide pre-stressed concrete box girder bridge, the Lach Huyen Bridge will be the longest sea bridge in Vietnam.
