Total Declares Force Majeure on Mozambique LNG Project

France’s Total on April 26 announced the declaration of force majeure on the Mozambique LNG productionproject that the company is serving as the project operator. The company has withdrawn all workers from the project site,at which liquefaction units are being constructed, in response to the worsening security condition in the north of CaboDelgado Province. In the area, Islamic militants are intensifying attacks, which may affect the project timeline that plansto start production activities in 2024.
