BCB to Take over Metallurgical Coal Assets in State of QLD from NHC

Bowen Coking Coal Limited (BCB), a mining company in Australia decided to take over a 100% stake in New Lenton Coal Pty Ltd. from New Hope Corporation Limited (NHC). New Lenton Coal holds a 90% interest in Lenton Joint Venture (Lenton JV) having multiple metallurgical coal assets in the State of QLD. Hence, BCB will acquire a 90% interest in Lenton JV by taking over New Lenton Coal. Incidentally, the party which holds a remaining 10% interest in Lenton JV is Mai-Lao Power Corporation (MPC) under the group of Formosa Plastics. Lenton JV holds a 100% interest in each of Burton coal mine as a metallurgical coal mine in the State of QLD and New Lenton mining area. The various facilities including the coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP), the train loading facilities (TLO) and so on belong to Burton coal mine. The coal preparation capacity at CHPP is 5.5Mtpa.
