Japan’s Domestic LPG Demand to Grow 2.5% by FY2025

An LPG demand outlook for FY2025 by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE), the Ministry ofEconomy, Trade and Industry (METI) was approved at a sectional meeting on April 6. According to the outlook, Japan’sdomestic LPG demand (excepting for power generation use) in the fiscal year of 2021 (April 2021-March 2022) isforecast to grow by 8.7% from the previous year, recovering from the novel coronavirus pandemic, while showing a slightgrowth of 0% to 1.4% in four years after that. As a result, Japan’s LPG demand in FY2025 is expected to be 13.962million mt, up by 344,000 mt (2.5%) compared to FY2021.
