Sinopec Shanghai to raise jet fuel output 32% in expectation of easing travel bans

Singapore—China’s Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical, which exports aviation fuel and supplies it to domestic airports, plans to raise jet fuel production by 32% year on year to 1.49 million mt in 2021, in anticipation of easing pandemic-induced travel bans, a company executive said. The plan to boost jet fuel production comes despite the refiner’s target to cut crude oil throughput by 3% year on year in 2021, the official said.
