Seaborne met coal PLV FOB prices decline on lower offers, weak demand

Singapore—Seaborne metallurgical coal prices continued their downward momentum in the ex-China market March 12 as lower offers for premium low vol coals failed to entice demand from the spot market. S&P Global Platts assessed Premium Low Vol down $2/mt at $115.50/mt FOB Australia, and CFR China down 50 cents/mt at $219/ mt March 12. The spot market saw sluggish demand from end-users for premium low vol material, with offers decreased gradually but failing to draw demand from end-users or traders.
