Indian demand for US mid-vol coking coal growing on steel rebound: Iman

London—Indian demand for US mid-volatile matter and premium hard coking coal imports grew in 2020 as strong steel and met coke fundamentals support India consumption rising to a new high in 2021 and 2022, according to Iman Resources. India imported 4.16 million mt of US met coal, down slightly from the 4.21 million mt in 2019. However, imports of US mid-vol HCC rose to 2.66 million mt in 2020, up 17% from 2019, Iman Resources FZ, a UAEbased coal and solid fuels trading group, said in a report.
