Metalloinvest to up quality, quantity of iron ore products; prioritizing EAF mills

London—Russian iron ore miner and steel producer Metalloinvest said Feb. 16 its product quality strategy through 2032 will be aimed at higher quantity and quality of iron ore and steel production, with a focus expanding its supplies to electric-arc furnace (EAF)-based producers of green steel. In line with its new strategy, Metalloinvest said its focus over the next ten years will be on growing the profitability of sales, improving operational and managerial efficiency, and on sustainable development. Metalloinvest aims to solidify its status as a manufacturer of iron ore and steel products that are at the heart of the steel industry's transition towards green technologies and a reduced carbon footprint, according to the company’s CEO Nazim Efendiev.
