FUTURES WRAP: Near-term LME scrap and rebar futures rise

Near-term rebar and scrap futures contracts on the London Metal Exchange saw strong gains over the week to March 31, as physical spot prices recovered. Platts assessed the March scrap contract up 50 cents/mt on week to $436/mt on March 31, while the April contract rose $20/mt to $463.50/mt on week. The May contract also rose sharply, up $22/mt on week to $469.50/mt, and the June contract was up $21.75/mt to $469.75/mt on week.
