Nursery consultant Will George says 2018 has been characterised by being "quiet, then busy". The liner market has been doing "alright" but there "may be less demand" for 2019 after plant sales fell 46 per cent in March and by nearly as much in most ofApril, he adds. But George says any dips "won't be a lot". Much depends on the summer. If it is very hot, that could mean a small reduction in demand. But if it is cooler and damper, there could be a prolonged season, which will give confidence lookingtowards 2019.
