摘要

Background: Severe gastrointestinal (GI) complications after elective hip and knee arthroplasty (THA/TKA) are rare. Some of them can be life-threatening and/or require emergency abdominal surgery. We studied the epidemiology of severe GI complications after THA/TKA and associations with anesthesia- and/or analgesia-related factors.
