Iron bridge project review leads to three senior Fortescue resignations

Three senior staff members of Australian iron ore giant Fortescue Metals Group have resigned in the wake of a review of the company's Iron Bridge Magnetite project, the miner said Feb. 16. "At Fortescue, our commitment to our values and culture is our highest priority. What we've learned through our review of the Iron Bridge project to date, is that we have lost sight of that critical focus," Fortescue CEO Elizabeth Gaines said in a statement. Fortescue announced a review of that project Jan. 28, saying it will look at the forecast total investment and schedule. Gaines said on a media call Feb. 16 that the leadership change decisions are not a reflection of the capital estimates of the project.
