Of the six seed dressing fungicides and three storage containers tested for their efficacy in protecting the sunflower seeds against seed-borne and seed contaminating organisms in storage, seeds treated with carbendazim+iprodione (quintal) at 0.3% andstored in polyethylene bags exhibited maximum germination and vigour index followed by carboxin+thiram (Vitavax power). Of the two bio-agents tested, seeds treated with P. fluorescens, at 0.8% and stored under polyethylene bags showed higher per cent germination and vigour index compared to seeds treated with T. viride. Seeds treated with neem leaf extract at 10% and stored under polyethylene bags exhibited significantly higher per cent germination compared to P. fluorescens but found inferior with reference to vigour index.
