Effect of Ti-doping on dosimetric properties of MgAl2O4 single crystals

摘要

Optical and dosimetric properties of Ti-doped (0.05, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.5%) MgAl2O4 single crystals grown by the floating zone method were investigated. All Ti-doped MgAl2O4 single crystals showed photoluminescence (PL) and thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) at 470 nm. The PL decay time constant of this luminescence was approximately 6 mu s, and the emission origin was ascribed to charge transfer (CT) related to Ti4+. The 0.1% Ti-doped MgAl2O4 single crystal showed the highest intensity of TSL glow peaks unlike the result of PL quantum yields (QYs). In TSL dose response functions, 0.1 and 0.2% Ti-doped MgAl2O4 single crystals showed detection limit that comparable with some commercial products.
