October brought rebound in ethanol exports

Ethanol exports in October 2020 totalled around 486.1 million litres, trade data show, a seven-month high, up 13% on the year and following a 22% decrease to 297.3 million in September. The October total included a strong 134.9 million litres to Canada, 107.8 million to destinations in the European Union (mainly the Netherlands) as well as 56.7 million to South Korea. Exports so far in calendar year 2020 were down 8% y/y at 4.275 billion litres. The main destination was Canada (1,017.1 million litres vs 1,029.4 million), followed by Brazil (677.3 million vs 1,068.1 million) and India (653.7 million vs 572.6 million).
