IOC, LanzaTech expand into advanced biodiesel production

Oil refiner Indian Oil Corp. (IOC) and US-based LanzaTech said they develop technology that converts CO2 into biodiesel and Omega-3 fatty acids. The companies also run a project on ethanol from CO2. LanzaTech has developed a biofuel production process, running on CO2 from industrial gases. There are several projects at oil refineries and steel mills, so far mainly for ethanol.
