摘要

The book Mind Fixers: Psychiatry's Troubled Search for the Biology of Mental Illness is a three-part book written by Dr. Anne Harrington. In addition to being an author, Dr. Harrington is the Dean of Pforzheimer House, the Director of Undergraduate Studies and the Franklin L. Ford Professor for the course History of Science, all at Harvard University. The aim of this book is to highlight the historical struggle of psychiatry to define itself as a scientific discipline. The book outlines the summary of events that led up to what the author calls a biological revolution in psychiatry and explores the ongoing nature versus nurture debate. The book is divided into three parts: Doctor's Stories, Disease Stories, and Unfinished Stories.
