This is the second part of the hot topic on skin cancer. The overview of non-melanoma by Dr. Joseph is an excellent introduction to set the scene for subsequent reviews. The melanoma review by Tori et al. has a comprehensive coverage on epidemiology, pathology and treatment. It is an up to date for management in 2017. The systemic treatment of melanoma is evolving very rapidly. The authors made a tremendous effort to summarize the latest standard of care and future research. Dr. Torri also wrote an updated review of systemic treatment for non-melanoma skin cancers. The editors sincerely hope the information is useful for clinical treatment decision. Care of patients with skin cancer starts with detection, diagnosis, investigation and treatment. Multidisciplinary care involves general practitioners, dermatologists, surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists. Therefore we have prepared the review of "Managing skin malignancies- how family doctors, plastic surgeons, and dermatologists can help". This review provided information to supplement what have not been covered in detail in other reviews. It also covered extensively in great details of surgical management in skin cancer.
