Minas Gerais pig iron producers face shortage of quality iron ore, increased costs

Brazil’s Sindifer, the Iron Industry Union of the State of Minas Gerais, is concerned by the problems with raw materials local pig iron suppliers are facing. A shortage of quality iron ore and high costs related to surging prices for iron ore and coal prevent pig iron producers from benefitting fully from the current great demand for pig iron, both locally and abroad.
