DONG to close Oselvar oil, gas field early

Denmark's DONG Energy said Monday it was closing down the Oselvar oil and natural gas field off the coast of Norway early because of disappointments over the reserve base, and following its recent $2 billion writedown of its oil and gas assets. The Danish state-controlled group said it had made an application to do so with the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.
