Calgary-Reduced drilling activity and depressed prices have started taking a toll on conventional crude oil output in Alberta, with production projected to decrease over the coming few years, an industry analyst said Tuesday. “This is the time after spring breakup and traditionally about 150 drilling rigs are active in Western Canada,” Paul Pasco, a senior upstream analyst with Wood Mackenzie, said on the sidelines of the ShaleTech Canada 2016 conference. “That figure now stands at 40 to 45.”
