Repsol makes giant Gulf of Mexico find

Houston-Spain’s Repsol on Monday said it has made a “significant [and] ultra-deep” oil discovery with a well in the remote lower Keathley Canyon area of the US Gulf of Mexico. Repsol announced a discovery of “high quality oil” with a net pay of over 150 meters’ thickness within a 400 meter column at its Leon well.
