Noble loans Petroecuador $1 billion, gains guarantee

Quito-Petroecuador says it has received a $1 billion, five-year loan from Noble Americas, guaranteeing Noble preferential access to the Ecuadorean company’s fuel purchases over the same time period. Proceeds from the loan will go to refur- bishment and maintenance of refineries, particularly Petroecuador’s main refinery, in Esmeraldas, and to fund a multipurpose pipe- line, Petroecuador said in a statement late Tuesday. The deal was signed September 8.
