UAE starts storage expansion at Fujairah

Fujairah—The United Arab Emirates has started work to expand the crude storage serving its newest export route, the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP) at Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman, officials said Tuesday. UAE’s state oil investment company IPIC currently has eight storage tanks, each with 1 million barrels capacity, and foundations have been laid for four new tanks of the same size, said Salem Abdo Khalil, a technical adviser to the Fujairah government. A date for completion of the new storage, which will expand the crude storage to 12 million barrels, has not yet been set, he said.
