Pakistan, Iran hold fresh talks on gas pipeline project

Karachi-Pakistani and Iran have started fresh talks on the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project after construction of the Pakistani side of the pipeline, which began amid much fanfare in March this year, came to a grinding halt due to funding and geopolitical issues. Sartaj Aziz, advisor to Pakistan's prime min- ister on issues of national security and foreign affairs, met with Iran's foreign minister Moham- mad Javad Zarif in Tehran on Tuesday to dis- cuss the multi-billion dollar project, a Pakistan foreign office source said Wednesday.
