Reliance Posts Higher Profit On Stronger Refining Margins

Reliance Industries, India’s largest listed company by market capitalization, on Friday posted a 24% rise in its quarterly net profit, reversing the trend of declining earnings in the last four quarters, boosted by higher refining margins (IOD Oct.16’12). Net profit for the quarter ended Dec. 31 rose to 55.02 billion rupees ($1.02 billion) from 44.40 billion rupees in the year-earlier period, the owner of the world’s largest refining complex said in a statement.
