Cepsa Eyes Hess Algeria Field

Spain's Cepsa is in talks with US-based Hess to buy its stake in the Bir el-Msana field in eastern Algeria, Reuters reports. A Cepsa spokesman said he could not comment on the reported talks, but did not deny their existence. Hess failed to respond to repeated calls. The US firm has a 49% stake in Bir el-Msana held jointly with state Sonatrach. First oil is not expected until 2014.
