Indian Diesel Demand Falls

India’s diesel consumption shrank for the first time in four years in February after the government allowed refiners in mid-January to increase prices in small amounts every month to cut massive subsidies on sales of fuel. Diesel consumption in February declined 2% to 5.39 million tons from 5.50 million tons in the year earlier period, the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) said. PPAC is a data analysis wing of the federal oil ministry.
