Global Petroleum is moving ahead with plans to acquire Jupiter Petroleum -holder of exploration interests offshore Namibia and Juan de Nova, a French dependency in the Mozambique Channel. The Australiabased independent -which has upstream interests in Texas in the US and Uganda -said it had been given the green light by Namibia's competition commission to acquire UK-registered Jupiter. But the deal is still subject to conditions, including due diligence investigations, government and regulatory approval and shareholder approval. Global said on Wednesday it hopes to send a notice of a meeting to shareholders by the end of June.
