Spot transactions Tuesday for premium low vol type of met coal cargoes supported prices, but demand for other segments was lackluster. S&P Global Platts assessed Premium Low Vol unchanged at $146/ mt CFR China, and the PLV FOB Australia prices were steady at $133.75/mt Tuesday. The FOB market was muted Tuesday with few indications and little interest seen throughout the day. A spot trade, however, concluded very quickly late Tuesday at $136/mt FOB Australia for 85,000 mt of globalCOAL HCCLV with December laycan, at sellers’ option of Peak Downs or Saraji.
