Rotational speed irregularity as an indication of engine health for diagnostic purposes

The paper demonstrates characteristics of engine and turbocharger speed irregularity (detected both within one revolution and between sequential revolutions) as indicative of engine condition. Both time-related and frequency-related characteristics can be employed. Examples of fault localization are discussed.
