The frequency of mutations induced with mutagenes for different wheat cultivars in their frost-resistance made up 0.01 to 0.21%, with control 0% or 0.01% level of spontaneous mutation. The obtained forms are regarded as a category of micromutation. Selection of frost-resistant forms among productive mutants is found to be efficient. It makes it possible to obtain with a high frequency (11.9 to 50.0%) the mutants with the improved frost-resistance in comparison with the original forms using a comparatively small sizes of samples. Obtaining the mutants with high frost-resistance is possible provided that the original matter has a pronouncedly expressed frost-resistant property.
