U.S. aluminum extruders may have won the battle against underpriced Chinese imports with the imposition of duties earlier this year, but the war rages on as product originating in China continues to make its way stateside, U.S. extruders told AMM. Chinese aluminum extrusions-which were slapped with anti-dumping duties of between 32.79 and 33.28 percent and countervailing duties of 8.02 to 374.15 percent by the Commerce Department in May-are said to be still making their way into U.S. consumers' inventories at less-than-fair value as Chinese exporters employ a number of classic circumvention techniques.
