Russian society as the educational environment: to the problem of socio-cultural self-organization

This paper is devoted to the changes in educational sphere within the last five years, and the principal tendencies of social educational environment are indicated. In his investigations the author is guided by the sociological monitoring data of the Russian independent institute of social and national problems, as well as by the deep interviews with the representatives of different social groups. National referendum says that good education becomes a vital component of bringing up children; the main component of life success is the aspiration for intellectual development; broad outlook and intellectual level are becoming the leading fundamental interests; erudition gives self-reliance; self-education is one of the main ways of people's pastime. The data obtained confirm that conservatism wave that appeared in the middle of 1990s, brought to light the superiority of spiritual principles above the outward life structure. In consequence, the educational environment in Russia is self-supporting and self-adjusting, and its activity creates conditions for preservation of Russian potential in educational environment. In the paper the conclusion is also made that linear economic approach to education reform will not be effective, it is necessary to use the resource of educational environment activity for the improvement of "human capital" value.
