摘要

Carbopyroceram is obtained through directed crystallization upon carbohydrate pyrolysis. High physicochemical, strength. elastic, and other properties of the material make it possible to use it, e.g., in the artificial heart valves that mustoperate for many years. Experiments show that carbon which is thc carbopyroceram base is close to the tissue of the organism in normal electrochemical potential and in the surface energy thus providing biocompatibility. The strength, elastic,thermophysical, x-ray structural, and electrical properties of carbopyroceram are studied.
