THE ROSE SHOW AS ART: CREATING MOVING AND MEMORABLE DISPLAYS

Probably the oldest and most firmly established tradition of a rose society is its rose show. It not only provides a society a potential source of new members, but also tends to interest, and even excite, current members. Historically, the show can bea significant event for the society and the community. Unfortunately, in some instances the rose show seems to have lost its luster. Some members are even becoming anti-competition and consequently anti-show. Perhaps that is just an excuse that sounds better than being bored with the activity and resentful of the work involved.
