Identification of main paddy rice cultivars in Tochigi prefecture by RAPD analysis.

摘要

Use of RAPD to identify paddy rice cultivars was investigated, as part of a programme to improve rice quality in Tochigi prefecture, Japan. A total of 20 paddy rice cultivars were analysed. They could be identified by electrophoresis of DNA fragments amplified by PCR using 7 random primers, on 1.5% agarose gels, and staining with ethidium bromide.
