摘要

Evaluation of the sesamin and sesamolin contents of sesame seeds is necessary for breeding lignan-rich sesame varieties. Factors influencing sesamin and sesamolin contents of sesame seeds were investigated. Sesamin and sesamolin contents were highest in seed capsules 30 days after flowering, regardless of harvest date. Large varietal differences in sesamin and sesamolin contents were observed in seeds tested 30 days after flowering. It is concluded that in order to identify lignan-rich sesame varieties, seeds should be analysed for sesamin and sesamolin at the same stage of maturity.
