Diagrams of ammonium and nitrate in alluvial-meadow soil and dernopodzolic soil following application of ureaform (MFU), compound fertilizers (SPU), urotropin and the nitrification inhibitor 1-carbamoyl-3(5)-methyl pyrazole (KMP) are presented for each growing season from 1991 to 1993 from a field experiment in the Moscow region, Russia. On both soils the inhibitory activity of KMP, low-solubility SPU in soil solution, as well as the mineralization dynamics of urotropin, were demonstrated.
